An application of linear algebra: curve fitting

My favorite (North American) bird is the chickadee. Suppose you collected data corresponding to the number of chickadees you observe during certain months of the year:

month# chickadees
January40
March50
May10
August20
September100
December70

How many chickadees would you expect to see in February? What about June or October?
Let's apply some linear algebra and write Python code in class to solve this problem for us!
